YapEffective September 7, 2026. These terms apply to the official Yap macOS preview and its project-operated authorization service. The developer and operator is Michael Grinich, an individual, contactable at mgrinich@gmail.com.
Using the preview
Using the official app or authorization service means agreeing to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the preview. The preview is provided without a charge from Michael Grinich. Your own Zoom, Google, internet or other third-party charges remain your responsibility.
You may use the preview for lawful personal or team purposes with accounts and meetings you are authorized to access. Obtain any necessary permission from your organization. Keep your account credentials private, and do not share the developer's SDK secret, bypass access controls or rate limits, impersonate another user, or interfere with the app, authorization service or other users.
Only send, share, record, download or export content you are entitled to handle. Obtain required notices, permissions and consent from participants, and follow applicable law and your organization's policies. The app's controls and Zoom's permissions do not replace your responsibility to use a recording lawfully. You remain responsible for files you save or share outside the app.
Independent services and software
Yap is independently developed and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zoom, Google or Apple. You must comply with the terms, permissions, subscriptions and policies applicable to your third-party accounts. These terms do not grant rights to third-party services, proprietary SDKs, trademarks or other people's content, or expand your Zoom account's entitlements. Access to some features depends on provider approval, account settings and available recording files.
The personal developer mode requires your own permitted developer setup; the managed mode uses the project's authorization service. Neither mode allows you to bypass Zoom's distribution or meeting-access requirements. Source availability alone is not a grant of a license to proprietary Zoom components. Any separate software license supplied with a component continues to govern that component.
The Privacy policy explains the app's and authorization service's data handling, including the personal/managed distinction. You keep your rights in your content; operating this preview does not transfer ownership of it to the developer.
Preview limits and stopping use
This is preview software. Features may contain errors, change or become unavailable, and third-party changes can interrupt them. No uptime, continuous support, compatibility or data-recovery guarantee is offered. Keep copies of important exported files and another way to join important meetings.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the preview is provided as is and as available, without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.
Access to the authorization service may be limited or suspended to address abuse, security problems, legal requirements or provider restrictions. You may stop using the preview at any time: leave calls, disconnect accounts, quit and remove the app. Remove provider authorizations separately if desired. Explicit exports, preferences and SDK-owned storage are not all removed by deleting the application; see Privacy for details.
For support, report non-sensitive issues through GitHub Issues. For private privacy/security questions, email mgrinich@gmail.com. Do not post tokens or private meeting information publicly. Updated terms will be published with a revision date; any material change requiring further agreement will be presented before it applies.
